Midweek AGM Highlights

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the John Henderson & Son Midweek Cricket League took place earlier this evening.

The highlights of the meeting (such as they were) are as below:

• Most of our games are on Thursdays, some on Wednesdays and just a couple on Tuesdays.  The first game is on Thursday 3rd May.
• In the first round of the cup, we have been drawn against the Police on Wednesday 30th May at Nunholm. Obviously this is excellent news for us as most of them will be away shooting terrorists at the Olympics.

• John Mutthiah (Healthpros) has replaced Bob Davidson on the Complaints Committee.  However, this body has yet to meet as it costs £10 to make a complaint.
• Nunholm talked about ideally wanting their teams to play on a dedicated night - but not this season.

Pre-Season Friendly

Breaking with a longstanding tradition, we have arranged a pre-season friendly against St Michael's Sunday XI, which is schduled to take place on Kingholm 1 on Sunday 22nd April, starting (presumably) at 2.00 pm.

Saints also have an away friendly on the same date, so that should mean we aren't faced with overwhelmingly strong opposition - cunning planning this by The Admiralty.

Incidentally, those keen and energetic enough may wish to join in with Saints last two indoor net sessions over the next two weekends.  They are on Sundays (18th and 25th) between 6.00 and 8.00 pm at Dumfries Academy Sports Hall, thus filling the gap nicely between Sunday lunch and the mid-evening session.
